Ananya Dash

I am a PhD Candidate and American Heart Association Pre-doctoral fellow at Emory University. My thesis work in the lab of Christopher LaRock focuses to understand host inflammation from severe infections of Group A Streptococcus. My research interests include innate immune responses, mucosal immunity, host microbiome and women's health.

Beyond my research endeavors, I am a science writer with a passion to debunk health and wellness myths. Reach out if you have an interesting story that no one ever talks about but you experience it - I love to cover women's health and their unheard medical issues.

My goal is to apply my scientific expertise to improve access to being in STEM, increase funding for innovative science, and sharing these stories by working in a career at the nexus of communications, non-profit and policy work.
